What is BlueBucket?
The Idea
With a vision
to "unite restaurants, patrons, and the
community," BlueBucket is an organization that facilitates
charitable donations through partnerships with independent restaurants.
Restaurants select items on their menu to be BlueBucket items and agree to
donate part of the price of the BlueBucket item to charity. When a BlueBucket
item is purchased, the customer can choose which charity the donation benefits.
Donations will be sent monthly to the charities based on the number of BlueBucket
items sold and the customer’s charitable choices.

Founding & Future Plans
BlueBucket began as a group project in an entrepreneurship course at the University of Notre Dame during the Fall 2014 semester. Two of those group members continued to work on BlueBucket, brought in a third cofounder, and decided to enter BlueBucket into the McCloskey Business Plan Competition.
BlueBucket officially launched in the South Bend area March 2015. Currently, all donation selection and tracking is being done on paper cards. If the South Bend launch is successful, the team hopes to seek investment to build a mobile application to better facilitate the donation process as well as scale BlueBucket to other cities across the United States.
